For Ultra4 enthusiasts, it is impossible not to know the name Cole. Indeed Dave Cole is one of the creators of this discipline and for more than 10 years he has been at the helm of these impressive 4×4 races that have taken place in the 4 corners of the planet: USA, Mexico, Europe, China, New Zealand, Australia. But in the Cole family, we must also count on the son who has been a driver for years.
Bailey Cole drives Ultra4
The least we can say is that he started 4×4 very early. Dave put his son in an all-terrain vehicle in the Johnsson Valley from a very young age and at 14 he started competing. After participating in the stock class for many years, Bailey moved up to the Legend class and then to the 4400 class with a brand new vehicle. He also drives rock crawling, bajas and short courses.
And “little” Cole is doing pretty well, he already has several race wins to his name: King Of Britain, King Of France, first in the Legend class championship in 2019 and finally 3rd in the Every Man Challenge in 2019.
New Ultra4 4400 for Bailey Cole in 2020
When I arrived in Hammetown at the end of January 2020 and I met Bailey, I asked him what the news was. With a big smile he told me to come to the stand where his car is usually parked. And there he showed me his new Ultra4, looking delighted.
I must say that I too had a smile because it was quite a beast that was before my eyes. A 725 hp machine with IFS suspension (Independent Front Suspension). I took advantage of being able to photograph it while the body panels were not yet reassembled. You will be able to admire all the details of the machine!
The results are there because Bailey # 4445 finishes just off the podium in 4th place, 28 minutes behind the first.
