Jeep Hemi Mudslinger Concept V8

In April 2009, Mopar Underground, Chrysler’s official tuner, unveiled the Jeep Lower Forty (LF40) at the Easter Jeep Safari. Based on a 2010 Jeep Wrangler JK, this concept was designed to optimize off-road performance without excessive lift modifications. The engineers focused on keeping the center of gravity low by extensively modifying the wheel wells to accommodate massive 40-inch tires on 20-inch Dodge RAM wheels.

The Mudslinger Concept initially featured a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, but after its resounding success at Moab, it underwent further evolution. The engineering team, led by Pietro Gorlier, upgraded the powertrain to a supercharged HEMI 426 with electronic components borrowed from the Dodge Viper. Additional refinements included Teraflex long-arm suspension, custom ARB diff-lockers, and a revised aluminum radiator for enhanced cooling.

The additional length, combined with high-performance upgrades, made this Jeep a formidable force both on and off the road.
